Method Description

Aflatoxins are highly toxic mycotoxins produced by Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus, with aflatoxin B1 being the most potent naturally occurring carcinogen. Testing is mandatory for many food and feed products because aflatoxins can cause liver damage and cancer, making them subject to strict regulatory limits worldwide. The method uses immunoaffinity cleanup followed by sensitive detection to achieve the low detection limits required for safety compliance.
