Method Description

Lactic acid bacteria are beneficial microorganisms that produce lactic acid through fermentation, playing important roles in food preservation and probiotic products. Testing is valuable for fermented foods, probiotics, and products where these bacteria contribute to flavor development, preservation, or health benefits. The analysis uses selective media that promotes lactic acid bacterial growth while inhibiting other microorganisms, allowing enumeration of these beneficial bacteria.
